Williamsport, MD – Larry Samuel Lowman, Sr., 86, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on May 8, 1934 in Williamsport, MD to the late Samuel J. and Pearl E. Cunningham Lowman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Dellinger Lowman in 2018 to whom he was married to for 64 years.
Larry was a 1952 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD. He received an Associates of Arts degree in Criminology from Hagerstown Junior College.
He was of the Lutheran Faith.
He was employed by Maryland Correctional Institute as a Correctional Officer in Hagerstown, MD until his retirement in 1994. He was previously employed by Pangborn Corp. and Moller Pipe Organ in Hagerstown, MD.
Larry was a member of the HDH Hunting Club in Hancock, MD; IORM Tribe #84 in Williamsport, MD where he was a member of the Shuffleboard and Horseshoe Leagues; member of Beaver Creek Country Club.
He is survived by his son Larry “Skip” Lowman, Jr. and his wife Dena of Huddleston, VA; son Brian L. Lowman and his wife Karen of Williamsport, MD; son Michael G. Lowman and his wife Jaime of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren Heather, Megan, Ryan, Brianne, Kelli Sue, Will, Hayden, Addison, and Terrie; great grandchildren Brody, Rory, Jules, Josie, Anderson, Lawson, Grayson, Kennedy, Blaze, Denver, Connor, and Nora; sister in law Nelda Harbaugh of Austin, TX; brother in law Lewis H. Dellinger, Jr. of Hagerstown, MD; brother in law Cecil “Butch” Harbaugh of Austin, TX.
He was predeceased by a brother Robert Lowman.
