Larry R. Ledford, 67, of Anderson, passed away on May 27, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on August 20, 1944 in Anderson, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. He retired in 1999 from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 35 years of service.
Larry attended The Bridge Community Church in Anderson. He served his country in the US Navy. He was a member of UAW #662, former member of the Anderson Corvette Club and enjoyed all types of racing and car shows, fishing and the Colts. He was also very active in his homeowner’s association. He especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting and musical events.
Larry is survived by his loving spouse whom he married August 23, 1964, Carolyn “Carol” A. Campbell Ledford, daughter & son-in-law – Erin Douglas Dole; daughter – Jada Ledford; brother – Ronald Peggy Ledford; 8 grandchildren – Harrison Dole, Leighton Dole, Wilson Dole, Lachlan Dole, Lennon Dole, Treyson Dole all of Alexandria, IN; Madison Crume, Hayden Crume and their father, Mathew Crume of Burlington IN, niece – Maggie Jordan Hinton of Anderson, IN; 5 nephews – Michael Angie Ledford of Pendleton, IN, Tony Ledford of Anderson, IN, Toby Ledford of Indianapolis, IN, Josh Anna Shoemaker of Valrico, FL, Clint Shoemaker of Riverview, FL.
Also surviving are very special friends – Ned Thompson, Ed Gaines, John Shay, Bobbie Williams, Jeane Atkinson, Keith Trent, Robert Washington, Robert Coleman, and special loving pet companion, Bindi.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Ruby Sturgeon Ledford .
