Larry M. Hayes, 74 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home. He was born September 4, 1941 in Centralia, a son to Maxie and Avanelle (Glosser) Hayes. He married Jean Dublin in 1962 and they later divorced.
Larry is survived by a his companion, Esty Garland of Centralia; son, Todd Hayes and wife Amy of Freeburg, IL; a daughter, DeAnn Bauer and companion Rob Smith of Belleville, IL; five grandchildren, Sam Hayes, Mark Bauer, Adam Bauer, Kristen “Christian” Orrill, and Stephen Garland; a great-grandson, Thomas Bauer; one sister, Linda Mentzer and husband Tom of Millstadt, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Barbara Belshe and Sharon Hayes; and a brother-in-law, John Belshe. Larry served in the National Guard for two years. He was a member of the Centralia Elks Lodge # 493. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, friends and his four-legged companion, Buddy.
