Larry K. Gustafson, age 74 of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Palliative Care Unit.
Larry was born November 27, 1947 to Ken and Lauretta (Helke) Gustafson in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He married Mary Jo Roginski on September 23, 1972. They had 49 years together.
In his earlier years, Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, also the Lake George vacations and spending time with his grandsons. He mostly enjoyed sitting in his lawn chair enjoying the great outdoors.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Crisis.
Larry worked in the finishing room of the Nekoosa Papers Port Edwards Mill and later at the Ho-Chunk Casino.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jo; children: Michele (Don Hagen) Gustafson Hagen of Merill, Christopher (Heather) Gustafson of Stratford, and Aaron Gustafson of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Austin (Katelyn) Wulf of Wisconsin Rapids, Fueller Gustafson of Stratford, Trevor Wulf of Wisconsin Rapids, Logan Hagen and Blake Hagen of Merrill; sisters: Karen Schultz of Newport News, Virginia, Diane (Dave) Werderits of Nekoosa, Bonnie (Dick) Kempen of Wisconsin Rapids, Kathy (Lydell) Koerner of Belle Fourche South Dakota, Debra (Joe) Braxdbury of Windsor, Maine and Pam (Dave) Groshek of Wisconsin Rapids; Mother-in-law RoseMarie Gustafson of Stevens Point, and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Lauretta and Ken; Grandchild Zachary Wulf (2000-2002); and brother-in-law Robert Schultz.
