Larry John Peterson was born December 30, 1939 in Starbuck, Washington to John and Mona Peterson. Larry, known as “Pete” to nearly everyone who knew him, was the youngest of nine children. When he was 13, he moved to New Plymouth to live with his sister, Betty Crabb. In New Plymouth, he started his freshman year of high school. Dad loved playing sports, especially basketball. To hear him tell it he was quite the athlete, and all the girls loved him. To hear mom, Karen Peterson, tell it, he was just a skinny farm kid. Larry and Karen were married in 1959 and construction life took them all over the western United States. Larry was a teacher, coach, and provider for his four sons and two daughters. He loved tending to the livestock that he kept on his one acre plot in New Plymouth. Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his mother and father; brothers, Leo Wendell, Leslie Verle and Nels; sisters, Betty Jean, Lila Louisa, Bertie Ann and Mary Lee; his oldest son, Michael; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his sons, Rick, Greg and James; his daughters, Becky and Brandi; and seven grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kristee Pattee. Kristee’s love and dedication to Karen, Larry and the entire family has been a blessing.
