Larry H. Lewis was born in Centerville, Iowa November 25, 1935 to Hugh and Leona (Drapper) Lewis. Larry passed away on November 24, 2016 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry grew up in Millerton, Iowa and later moved to Chariton, where he graduated High School from. After High School Larry joined the United States Army, serving for two years.
Larry then married Judy and of this marriage were three children, Steve, Kelly and Patricia. He worked in road construction, Dahls Supermarket in Des Moines, Super Value in Chariton and later for the Chariton Water Department. Larry divorced in 1986 and remarried in 1995 to Patricia Wenndt.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother in law, Betty (Lionel) Noland, Janey (Don) Merrian and daughter Kelly Myers.
Left to cherish Larry’s memories are wife Patricia, son Steve Lewis of Burlington, Daughter Patricia Lewis of Burlington, and grandson Daniel Myers. Along with step-children Doug Wenndt of Chariton, Dana (Steve) Burnham of Wichita, Kansas and Darrin (Sharon) Wenndt of Derby, Iowa, four step-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He will also be missed by his two cats “Pepper” and “Mikey”.
