He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus Emmett, Jr. and Wilma Jean Payne; twin brother, Gary Payne.
Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Dorothy Payne, Buford, GA; children, Jason and Angela Payne, Charleston, SC, Jennifer and Jimmy Rivers, Cartersville, GA; step-children, Michael and Suzanne Powers, Hoschton, GA; six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Robert Nichols, Shreveport, LA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Payne was born July 23, 1952 in Tulsa, OK. Everybody loved him; he brought smiles to many faces.
