Larry Edward Kleven was born on April 9, 1948, in Milan, Minnesota to Wilfred and Alice Kleven, the youngest of 3 children. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1966, later attending Moorhead State University, going on to start his own building company, Kleven Construction.

Larry met the love of his life, Sherry Livdahl, in the fall of 1972 in Montevideo, Minnesota, and got married on March 10, 1973. They were blessed with three sons, Kelly, Ryan, and Scott. His favorite place in life was his cabin on Lake Minnewaska, where he and his family spent their weekends all year round.

He enjoyed playing golf, ice fishing, his weekly trips to the casinos in Cripple Creek, and being tormented by the Vikings every Sunday. The love he had for his family was always apparent. He had the ability to talk to anyone for hours with his storytelling and jokes and would find a new friend wherever he went.

Larry passed away peacefully at his home in Canon City, Colorado on November 10, 2021, at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; sons, Kelly (Kirsten) of Pueblo, Colorado, Ryan (Jill) of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Scott (Kristi) of Canon City, Colorado; brother, Al; sister, Vonnie; 8 grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
