Larry Edward Edrington, 74, of Beech Grove, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at his home from a heart attack. Larry was born July 12, 1943, in Greene County, Arkansas, and was a lifelong area resident. Larry was retired from Emerson Electric where he had worked 38 years. He was a devoted family man and deeply loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had a great love for the land and for many years was an active farmer. He was an unparalleled mechanic and was seemingly capable of fixing anything that ran on gas or diesel, he was still working to fix things even on the day of his death. Larry loved to fish and went every time he got the chance, and even built his own lake in front of his house for the enjoyment of his family and neighbors. He greatly enjoyed taking long drives in his truck or on his motorcycle to view the countryside and see how others lived and worked. Larry was the kind of neighbor that would take the shirt off his back to help you out and if he made you a promise to do something for you, his word was as good as gold. Larry was a hard worker rarely going a day in which he did not rise early and put his hand and mind to a task he felt was worthy, and he instilled this kind of work ethic into his children.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Edrington of 55 years; his son, Chris S. Edrington and wife Dianna Edrington; his daughter, Heather Ellis and husband Rickey Ellis; his brothers, Billy Dale Edrington and Bobby Edrington; his grandchildren, Josh Edrington, Shannon Edrington, Madelyne Ellis, Brenden Edrington, Andrew Ellis, and Caelyn Edrington.
He is preceded in death by his son, Clinton Blake Edrington, and his mother and father, Wilma and Owen Edrington.
