Larry David Freeman, 69, of Burlington, died on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Durham County, he was the son of Robert Earle Freeman, Sr. and Louise McCarthy Freeman, both deceased. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Campbell University. He spent his career as an Insurance Claims Adjuster in the Burlington, Knoxville, Charlotte and Greensboro areas. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church of Durham. He was a member of the Alamance Claims Association, Rams Club at University of North Carolina, General Alumni Association at University of North Carolina, Campbell Alumni Association and the National Rifle Association.
Larry was a devoted father, avid golfer and lifelong Tarheel fan. He is survived by his two children, Angela Freeman Blackwell and husband Luke of Plymouth, MA and David Freeman and wife Michelle of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Ruby Blackwell, George Blackwell, and Harry Blackwell; his brother, Robert Earle Freeman, Jr. and wife Jean of St. Simons Island, GA; and his girlfriend, Linda Welch Holyfield of Burlington.
