Larry Lee “Big Pa†Shelton, 75, of 1680 Sandy Creek Road, Dry Fork, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Danville Regional Medical Center. Born February 1, 1935 in Caswell County, NC, he was the son of the late William H. Shelton and the late Lorena Shelton Shelton. He was very active in the youth baseball in the county where he coached for a number of years. He was a farmer and a truck driver. He attended Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and was married to Geneva Hammock Shelton of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Wesley Shelton and wife Kathy and Wayne Shelton and wife, Patricia, all of Danville, Randy Shelton of Florida, and Kent Shelton and wife, Kim of Dry Fork; his grandchildren Kristin Shelton, Lindsay Shelton Payne and husband Seth, Stephanie Shelton and fiancé Jim Minich, Kendall Shelton and his great-granddaughter, Kinsley Payne. He is also survived by a sister, Elsie Jane Haskins of Danville and two brothers, Gary Shelton and Bobby Shelton both of Danville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers.
