Larry Arthur Curtis, age 83, of Ovid died on Monday March 11, 2024, after a short battle with leukemia.Larry was born on January 12, 1941, to Arthur and Neva (Moore) Curtis at home in Victor township. He attended Ovid High School where he earned his High School diploma. Shortly after graduating he proudly served his country in the United Sates Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the submarine USS Chivo. Later on, Larry worked at Sealed Power in St. Johns where he retired in 1995. On September 19, 1964, Larry married the love of his life, Judy Rhody. Together they raised their three wonderful children and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.During his life Larry enjoyed many days in the field hunting as well as many days on the water fishing with his family and friends. He loved to travel and go camping in his fifth wheel. Oftentimes you could find Larry enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning with his friends at the Ovid Cafe. Some of his most cherished times came when he was around the bonfire with his beloved family.Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Loren (Jodi) Curtis of Bay City, Roxanne (Grant) LeDuke of Ovid, and Bryan (Michelle) Curtis of St. Johns; grandchildren Rachel (Jake) Kramer, Mitchell LeDuke, Tyler Curtis, and Katelyn Curtis; sister, Beverly Crowell; brother-in-law John Coffman; sisters-in-law Marilyn Curtis and Pam (John) Pfeifauf.Along with his wife he is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Lorna Coffman, Robert Curtis, and Rosemary Stevens.
