Larry Alvin Young was born on June 12, 1945 to the late Henry B. and Maggie Lewis in Hartselle, Alabama. He departed this life on October 6, 2016 at the Falkville Nursing Home-USA.
He accepted Christ at an early age. Larry attended the Hartselle School System, graduating from Morgan County Training School. After graduation he worked at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI as a custodian. He then left Wayne State University and enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. After serving in the army he moved back home to Hartselle, Alabama. When he became ill, he entered the Falkville Nursing Home. He was a very fun loving person and loved to entertain.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Amos Young, Henry Young, Jr., Floyd Young, Charles Young, Ida Bell Orr, Bernice Boyd, Annie Ruth Bonney, Emma Anderson, Rose Morrow and Gwenette Burton.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a son, Larry Alvin Young, Jr. of Hartselle; a brother, William B. Young (Beverly) of Hartselle; a sister, Bessie Young Vines (Johnny); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
