Larry Allen Jones, 64, of Rensselaer, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021, at home, peacefully, with many who loved him.
Larry was born in Flint, Michigan, on April 1, 1957. April fool’s day could not be more fitting for the prankster he was. Surviving is his true love, Carolyn “Sue” Jones Beiswanger; children Angel (Jeremy) Thomas, Amanda Jones, Alexis (JR) Northcutt, Larry R Jones and Angie Beiswanger; siblings Sue Davis, Kathy Jones and Jennifer (Al) Watkins.
Larry was Pop-Pop to amazing grandchildren and was the Fun-cle to all his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret K (O’Dell) Jones; brothers Steve Dark, Billy Dark, David Dark, and Ted Jankowski.
Larry met the love of his life, Carolyn “Sue” Jones Beiswanger, in the late 1970s and had 4 beautiful children. He gained a bonus daughter, Angie, through Sue’s subsequent marriage and was always sure to include her.
Larry Jones was a lot of things in his life, a truck driver for over 20 years, jack of all trades and above all he was a Dad. He had a personality that didn’t quit. He was a handsome showoff and knew it. He was a risk taker and a heart breaker. He had incredible rhythm and was a great singer. He loved to push the limits in everything he did. He held nothing back. He would help anyone, anytime and cared deeply about other people’s struggles.
Larry sustained a traumatic brain injury on May 8, 2005, that changed his life forever. He had 24-hour care from that day forward. Over the years, he was cared for by his five children, the love his life, son-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, grandkids, family friends, caregivers and many PDB/BWS’s that loved him dearly. Thank you to everyone who played a role in his care, and all who supported him, including Dr. Sheets, the hospice team and the Monon community for the support and understanding for many years.
