Larry was born a Bobcat on May 7, 1942, in Bozeman, Montana, but wised up early and moved with his family to Missoula and was forever then a Griz. He graduated, by a thread, from Sentinel High School and the University of Montana before becoming manager of the UC bookstore on the UM campus. It was there he met his wife of 49 years, Susan Rettig.  In 1979, Larry left a good job for a good life farming dirt in Highwood. There he and Susan raised two boys and taught them the virtues of hard work, clean ground, generosity, kindness, and integrity.

Larry had a deep love for the Highwood community and was active in several capacities, including school board, part time letter carrier, scholarship fundraising, and keeping everyone apprised of everyone else’s business.

Larry is survived by the community of Highwood; half of Missoula; one brother, Paul (Mary); two sons, Burke (Holly) and Chad (Charlie); four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved wife, Susan.
