Lankford “Billy” William Gardner, 85 of Suffolk, VA, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was the son of the late Oscar and Norma Gardner. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Willie Anne W. Gardner.Billy was the owner and operator of Gardner Recovery Towing Service and retired as an auto mechanic and service station owner and operator. He was a lifetime member of Magnolia Methodist Church. He was a member of the Chuckatuck Ruritan Club since 1988 and transferred to Bethlehem Ruritan Club. He was an active member of the Colonial Council, Boy Scouts of America, Order of the Arrow, B.S.A. and Woodbadge Association, B.S.A. He was also a Charter Organization representative of the Pack 73 and Troop 73, which is chartered by Magnolia Methodist Church.Billy is survived by his sons, Keith Gardner (Robin), and Kevin Gardner (Maria) both of Carrollton; daughter, Debra Wilkerson of Hampton; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Copeland (Clyde) of Suffolk, and Katherine Horner (Mike) of Hampton; three granddaughters, Kristine Leake (Jake), Jessica Price (Damon), and Heather Benton; great-granddaughter, Freyja Price; and sister, Letty Gambacorta (Mike) of Smithfield.
