Laney Selah Kumpf, daughter of Ernest and Sarah Kumpf, passed away gently in her parents’ arms on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She was born at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka on August 30, 2021.
Laney is survived by her loving parents; older sister, Eliza Kumpf; maternal grandparents, Al and Tresa Mathews; paternal grandparents, William and Peggy Kumpf; great grandmothers, Thelma Mathews and Joanne Moore; aunts and uncles, Michael and Stacey Kumpf, Justin and Rachel Mathews, and April and Stephen Upchurch; as well as many cousins. She is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Bert Moore and Polly Eversole; paternal great grandparents, Ernest and Peggy Parsons; and cousin, Amelia Sitnik.
Laney entered the world on her own time and was born with fuzzy black hair, just like her big sister. Her parents were blessed to spend 2 hours and 22 minutes with her where she was showered with love by many. Sarah and Ernie are grateful to the family of John and Tammy Browning for their endearing support during this difficult time. The family would like to thank their team from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. They would also like to thank The Vine Church of Goshen for all their prayers and support. Laney was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
