Laney Foreman Barbor, the longtime Flagstaff resident, passed away on March 23, 2015, after an extended battle with cancer. She was 71 years of age. Laney was a strong and giving woman, loved by many. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Roger and Jeanne Phillips.

Laney and her two sons first moved to Arizona in 1969, due to her teaching at Shonto Boarding School on the Navajo Reservation. She and her sons returned to Ohio for a time and eventually re-settled in Flagstaff in 1975. Laney was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many. One of her loves was a passion for knitting. She was involved in many activities during her life. Most notably was her devotion and service to the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Laney’s years of dedicated work and service included Northern Arizona University, Cottonwood School District, The Guidance Center, and Quality Connections.

Laney is survived by her brother David (Renae) Phillips, sister Deidre (Moses) Flores, sons Dirch (Susan) Foreman, Mark (Amy) Foreman, grandchildren August, Sadie, and Brittany, nieces and nephews Julie, Troy, Andrea, Grant, and Stephanie, grand nephews and nieces Lemar, Nyka, Tyler, Brooke, and Russ. Laney touched many lives in a multitude of ways and her presence will be greatly missed.
