Ladon Hamilton, 76, a resident of Jackson, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 in his home. He was a native of Greenville. Ladon was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. He loved fishing, hunting and making people laugh. Ladon always had a joke to tell. Most of all, his greatest enjoyment was in spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daisy and Joe Hamilton; a brother, Richard Hamilton; and a sister, Ruth Knight.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Hamilton of Jackson; daughter, Valerie Hamilton of St. Augustine, Fla.; sons, Brandon and Mark Hamilton, both of Massachusetts; a grandson, Jacob Hamilton of St. Augustine, Fla.; five sisters, Linda Hamilton, Joyce West and Mabelline Hamilton, all of Greenville, Maxine (Brian) Warren of Fort Mitchell and Nancy Hamilton (Joe) Young of Daphne; four brothers, Walter (Annie Nell) Hamilton of Jackson, Joe Louis (Ellen) Hamilton of Greenville, Jerome (Rosie) Hamilton of Columbus, Ga., and Alphonso Hamilton of Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Paulette Hayes of Stoughton, Mass., and Yvonne Herschenson of Brockton, Mass.; devoted brother-in-law, Graylin (Sussan) Jones of Jackson; one devoted nephew, Joseph Hamilton of Greenville; with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, including devoted friend, Mamie Johnson of St. Stephens.
