Landon David “Lanny” Richmond of Waldron, AR, passed from this life, Friday, May 19, 2017 in a Waldron nursing home. Lanny was born October 25, 1954 to Burl and Freddie (House) Richmond in Waldron, AR. Lanny was 62 years, 6 months, and 24 days old. He was a member of the Waldron Church of Christ in Waldron, Arkansas.

Lanny met and married the love of his life, Rita, and together they spent 35 years filled with companionship, hard work, music, and family.

Lanny was an advertising executive for KINB and KTCS radio for most of his life. He and Rita also operated the The Showroom Music Theater in Waldron. For a short while he was a fireman on a steam engine in Eureka Springs. He enjoyed being part of the historic train tours and even had the opportunity to perform in a music theater while there.

Music was in Lanny’s blood and he had a natural talent for it. Family and friends joined him in his lifelong passion from his high school band “Lanny Richmond and the Triple Image” to “The Lanny Richmond Band” in later years. Lanny was known and loved throughout the region and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a big laugh and even bigger personality. Lanny also loved hunting, fishing, camping and time spent with his family.

Lanny leaves behind to cherish his memory five sons: Jackie Richmond and wife, Amber; Scott (Rowdy) Richmond; Victor Richmond; Joe Richmond and wife, Beverly; and Landon (Boogie) Richmond II, all of Waldron, AR. Poppa will forever be missed by his eleven grandchildren: Dillon, Emily, Haylee, Jessica, Hunter, Whitney, Molly, Landon III, Chloe, Gracie Mae, and Aiven. Lanny is also survived by one sister, Rosemary James.

Lanny will be missed by all who knew him and the many lives he touched, including a host of friends, fellow musicians, extended family and loved ones.

Lanny is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Richmond; his parents, Burl and Freddie (House) Richmond; one daughter, Chandra Richmond; two brothers, Eugene Richmond and Leon Richmond.
