La’Kisha Michelle Towner, affectionately known as Auntie Kisha, was born to Renee R. Travis-Towner and Maynard B. Towner on July 15, 1982. La’Kisha attended primary school at IPS school 113. She graduated from Indianapolis Job Corps and Martin University with a degree in Biology. La’Kisha worked as a licensed phlebotomist and a home health aide for seniors.
La’Kisha passed away on February 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father: Maynard Towner; paternal grandparents: Lillian and Dave Weathers; maternal grandparents: Susan Bradberry-Nicolas (James Nicolas) and Charles Travis (Elizabeth Hicks Travis); uncle: Jimmie Nicolas and life partner: Maurice Jackson.
La’Kisha leaves to cherish her memory: children: Jaden Woods and Ma’Kayla Jade Towner; mother: Renee Towner; stepfather: Steve Wells; siblings: Aletra Wells – Edison (James), LaTasha Holder (Nathan), Shanika Harrington (Anthony), James Wells, and Michael Towner; and a host of nieces and nephews (as Auntie Kisha would always say some by blood and some by flood, as she never met a stranger.)
