La Fay Bozon, 87, of Salado,Texas, died Sunday evening January 29th at a local hospital.
La Fay was born on July 6th 1929 to Adolph and Dora Wolf Peschel in Bartlett, Texas. She spent her youth in Walburg,Texas. She married Josef Bozon on August 23, 1948 in Corn Hill, Texas. After graduating from Georgetown High School, she began her banking career at Walburg State Bank. Her banking career included positions with Houston National Bank and Deer Park National Bank before joining her husband in operating Bozon’s Meat Market in Pasadena, Texas.
Upon the sale of Bozon’s Meat Market, La Fay and Joe moved to Salado, Texas where she once again resumed her banking career while working at Salado National Bank, Killeen Savings and Loan and First State Bank of Central Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe in September 2015. She is survived by; two daughters, Linda Wells Bonnin and her husband Larry, of Seabrook; Jo Ann Preston of Salado; a son, Carl Bozon and his wife Barbara of Belton, and a brother, Harold Peschel. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jana Maksymowski and husband Aaron, Russ Florey and wife Fe, Adam Florey and wife Misty, Brandon Bozon and wife Jessica, Brianna Bozon and Shane Bonnin and wife Staci; along with ten great-grandchildren.
La Fay was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was always accepting and encouraging to her children, grandchildren and to others; yet to-the-point when she needed to be. She knew that a smile and a kind word was always the foundation for a comforting outcome.
La Fay was a life-long Lutheran and a member of First Lutheran Church in Temple.
