My mom, LadyHawke, passed in the afternoon of November 21, 2017. She was a shaman and a healer. Guiding others to find their light and assist them on journeys to find their own spiritual path. She could see joy in the simplest things; the color in the sky, the chirp of a bird, the rainbows in a glass of water. She was an artist; painting as a young mother to her intricate medicine pieces now adorning homes universally. She would leave her drawings on the earth everywhere she went; creations in the sand on the beaches of Washington, adornments in the snow in the mountains of Colorado. Always we will remember her love and protection of the earth and all it contains; oceans to mountains, the plants, animals and the totems they represent. A gardener, kayaker, hiker and biker, she loved being outdoors. To my brother and I, her nieces and nephew, she offered love and acceptance with no judgement or criticism. She just let us be kids. As teens, not always making the right decisions, she offered support regardless. As an adult we talked every day, I’d tell her about the mundane intricacies of my life, she would listen, interact and receive in a way only a proud mother could. I love you, mom.
