A resident of Boerne since 1976, La Verne was a charter member of the Boerne Bible Church. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frederick Otte, and brother, Roy Spikes, Mrs. Otte is survived by daughters, Diane Vordenbaum and her husband, Revard, and Shirley Marie Humphries and her husband, Wilbert; grandchildren, Kevin Holt and his wife, Mandy, Kelly Holt and his wife, Lisa, Kristin Theiss and her husband, James, and Nick Vordenbaum, Jr.; great grandchildren, Oran Holt, Hannah Holt, Madison Murrah, and Tanya Theiss.
