Lynn was born January 18, 1915 to Sara Alice (Gilmore) and Walter Dennis Jordan and was a lifetime resident of Jasper County. He was raised on a farm, along with his 4 brothers, near McCoysburg, IN and remained a farmer his entire life.

He attended the Hanging Grove Township School until 1932. He graduated from Rensselaer High School with the class of 1934 where played basketball and served as senior class president. Lynn married Gladys Mae Cook, the love of his life, on September 14, 1935, in Lafayette, IN. They enjoyed 62 years together before Gladys passed away on September 16, 1997. Together they enjoyed many aspects of family life on the farm and beyond. Lynn was a Director on the Jasper County REMC board from 1962-1997 and served as secretary of that board from December 1971 until 1997.

He was also a member of the Wabash Valley Power Association. Lynn was a member of the Jasper County Fair Association where he was swine superintendent from 1958 to1972 and served as president in 1973, 1974 and1975. Lynn was an active member of the former Jasper County Pork Producers, Jasper County Livestock Association and Jasper County Corn Show committee, where he had been president. He had a love of swine shows and fairs, was the Indiana Chester White Breed manager for many years and a member of the Indiana Chester White Association. Lynn was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer.

He is survived by 5 children, Brenda Putman, Rensselaer; Nancy (Mac) Hershberger, Greenwood, IN; Delmar (Donya) Jordan, Rensselaer; Steve (Cay) Jordan, Rensselaer; and Pam (George) Spangle, Monon, IN; 20 Grandchildren, 48 Great Grandchildren, and 22 Great Great Grandchildren; a daughter-in- law Eleanor Jordan and two brothers, Robert Jordan and Carl Jordan all of Rensselaer.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gladys, a son, Richard Jordan, son-in-law Jim Putman, 2 brothers, Elvin Jordan and Dean Jordan and a great great grandson.
