He had his physical and was on board the train to report when his employer obtained a deferment for him as his job was considered essential to the farming community.
In 1948, the year of lots of snow, Cline worked for Bunting Tractor. The next 13 years, Cline worked at Wagner Implement and then at Lewis Auto Parts until he retired in 1980. Cline returned to work for Cleland Johnston at Greg Terminal until he truly retired at the age of 70.
Cline was active in Boy Scouts, 4-H, Odd Fellows Lodge, Senior Center and in the early 40’s he served as the president of the Gooding Schools consolidation committee.
Cline and Violet have five children; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. They have enjoyed hunting and fishing and the family. Nearly every summer they could be seen in their garden. Traveling has been a satisfying part of their retirement.
