Kyle A. McDannald, 31, of Jacksonville, IL died Monday, January 25, 2021, in Chicago.

He was born Sept. 17, 1989, in Springfield, the son of Robert M. McDannald, Jr. and Rowena Hutchcraft.

He is survived by his father, Robert (Elizabeth) McDannald, Jr. of Meredosia; his mother, Rowena (Terry) Dawdy of White Hall; paternal grandmother, Barbara McDannald of Meredosia; his daughter, Samantha McDannald and her mother, Jennifer Elliott, both of Jacksonville; brother, Michael (Racenda Chaplain) McDannald, Sr. and his nephew, Michael McDannald, Jr., all of Jacksonville; brothers, Eli Dawdy of White Hall, and Jesse Anderson of Meredosia; two step-sisters and one step-brother, Heather (Dawdy) Strubberg, Rena (Dawdy) Brooks, and Austin (Dawdy) Mayes, all of East St. Louis; aunts and uncles, Constance and Kevin Guthrie, James and Janice Stray (Karvonen), all of Meredosia, Cindy and Henry Thornton, Tim and Tina Hutchcraft, all of Jacksonville, Kathy McDannald of Kentucky, Bob and Kristol Turner of Lowder, Theresa and Chris Smith of White Hall, Charldene and David Morris, and Jill and Paul Boyd, all of Jacksonville, Brenda Newcomer of Indiana, Wendell Hutchcraft of Belleville, John Dawdy of Kentucky, Tom Dawdy of Hardin, and Andrew and Laura Sidock, Sr. of Florida; and cousins, Cassandra, Charlene, and Samuel Hutchcraft, Joseph, Tiffany, and Joshua Thornton, all from Jacksonville, Nicholas, Timothy, and Holly Stray, all from Meredosia, Brandon McDannald of Utah, Andrew, Aaron, and Alex Sidock, all of Arenzville, Megan (Guthrie) Trowbridge of Chicago, Amber Musgrove of Indiana, Randall Hutchcraft (Boyd) of New York, Vernon Boker, Jr. of Rushville, and Alex and Austin Melchor of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert McDannald, Sr.; maternal grandparents, William and Doris Hutchcraft; paternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Boker; and aunts, Lisa Sidock and Barbara Guthrie.

Kyle was a special son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family and especially loved being with his daughter, Samantha. She is a daddy’s girl. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. Kyle was always about Ford trucks. He was on his way to a fresh start in drug rehab in Chicago, but unfortunately, did not get his opportunity to fulfill what he wanted to accomplish, which was for his family and daughter. He was a kindhearted young man and will be greatly missed by all. “Rest in Peace, God loves you.”
