She and her siblings grew up in the suburbs of Denver Colorado. Kristi graduated from Northglenn High School in 1990, went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University, and then a masters degree in social work from Arizona State University. She married her former husband Mike Murphy in September of 2003. Together they were blessed with two adoring children Kennedy (14) and Shamus (12). Like her mother before her, she was at her best when helping others. She was truly the “glue” that held people together. Kristi had a passion for fitness and the outdoors. One could often find her running, hiking or skiing. Her beloved dogs were always by her side. Friends remember the late Tundra, Tiara and Titan and her current dogs Bear and Bella. Kristi also loved to travel. She frequented locales such as Mexico, Greece, Canada, The Bahamas and California. She was always ready for an adventure, especially if there was a beach involved! Kristi expressed her faith as a member of Living Streams Church and her children are following in her footsteps by serving in their local church and community. She was preceded in death by grandparents Charles and Miriam Harris and Bart Highland. Uncles John Harris and Gil Highland. Father Paul Turmaine. Sister-in-law Kris Highland. Mother Judi Highland. She is survived by daughter Kennedy, son Shamus, ex-husband Mike, brother Guy, sister Kelli (Adam), nephew Mason, step-dad Mal (Shari), aunt Jo and uncle Don, Cousin Breanne.
