Krista Vagnieres, 63, of Lafayette passed away on Monday, April 22nd at the Good Samaritan hospital. Krista was born to Dorothy and Robert Vagnieres on December 19th, 1955 on an army base in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and was one of four children. She graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School and received a BA degree in Psychology from CU. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Vagnieres. She is survived by her father, Robert Vagnieres, Sr, and step-mother Glory Southwind, sister, Pam Vagnieres and brother-in-law, William Miller, her brothers, Robert Vagnieres, Jr, his wife Maria Infante Vargas, and Ross Vagnieres and his wife Lorri Zipperer, her nephews, Willi Miller, Joshua Blustein and Charlie Vagnieres and niece Amelie Vagnieres. Over the years, she touched so many people with her unique combination of an enormous sense of humor, kindness, generosity, unique sense of style, and straight talk, her “family” extended well beyond her blood family. Her passing has left a multitude of people with painful voids in their lives and hearts, and in a state of deep sorrow. To say that she will be missed is an understatement of enormous proportions. Fare thee well to our friend, our daughter, our sister, our aunt, and our co-worker. We hope you left knowing how profound, special and permanent your impact was to us all, and, for that you will always live on.
