Kitty Mote, November 28, 1928 – January 18, 2016.

Kitty Latham Mote, 87, of Belton, TX, peacefully passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 surrounded by her family.

Born, November 28, 1928 in Little River, Texas to Bernice and Jess Latham, Kitty went on to graduate from Academy High School, where she enjoyed playing on the school’s basketball team. In 1991, she retired from Scott and White Memorial Hospital after 30 years of dedicated service as a lab technician. After retirement, she received fulfillment devoting her time to volunteering with the Scott and White Pioneers, a volunteer service organization comprised of retired Scott & White employees.

Kitty was a dedicated and committed mother who worked hard to raise her 4 beautiful children. She spent the majority of her days taking care of others, enjoying and playing with her numerous dogs, and of course shopping for the best bargains in town with her beloved sister, niece and other family members. Kitty was a strong and resilient woman who touched the hearts of everyone she encountered in her life.

Kitty is survived by her sister Billie Forrest and best friend since childhood Sue Russell; her son M.D. Mote and daughter Karla Peterman and her husband Bill Peterman; grandsons Lukas Vaden, Tony Mote, Billy Peterman; granddaughters Lindsey Carter, Sara Peterman, Brooke Morales-Nazario, Brandy Mote, Alyssa Schults and 12 great grandchildren. Also Kitty will be missed by her many nieces and nephews all of which she considered to be a vital and fundamental part of her life.

Kitty is preceded in death by her son, Kyle Mote and daughter, Susan Mote.
