Kirk Richard Marcum, 54 of Chicago, formerly of Centralia, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at Evanston North Shore Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. He was born January 2, 1963 in Centralia, son of Bill Joe Marcum and Marie Emily (Shields) Marcum.

He is survived by his father, Bill Marcum of Centralia; a sister: Barb Albert and fiancé Allen Simmons of Centralia; a nephew, Fory Albert and fiancé Chelsea of Hoyleton; two uncles: Lyle “Fish” Marcum and Pat of Centralia and John Shields of Odin; three aunts: Jo Schubert and husband Don of Carlyle, Jean Cobb of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Carol Marcum; several cousins, three special friends Jane Bozeman, Allison Kirkland, and Karen Bonney, and his work family: Ashley and Denise. He was preceded in death by his mother. Kirk worked as a Residential Supervisor for Misericordia Home in Chicago for 30 plus years. Kirk was the job training supervisor and he had a love for the Chicago White Sox, in which he was a member of the White Sox Fan Force Team.

He absolutely loved his job and the individuals that he worked with. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and he was so happy to see the Cubs win the World Series in 2016. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with family and friends. Everyone who knew Kirk all say that he was a super great guy with a great sense of humor; always laughing and making others feel good.
