My mother, Kimiko Black (Suzuki) born November 23, 1931 in Tokyo Japan. Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019. She met her husband Allen Black (deceased) in Japan and began a family (sons Danny, Ricky and David). My mom was happily married to my dad for 60+ years. She will now join her best friend. With my father being in the military, it allowed us quite a bit of travel. Danny was born in Japan, Ricky was born in Illinois and David in Florida. Sometimes I felt sad for my mother, because she left behind everything including family, friends and culture. Raising 3 boys (four counting my dad) all around the US did not allow her to make supportive, long lasting friendships. I also admired my mother for learning our culture and the English language, she was pretty tough.
Sometime after my father retired from the Air Force in Maryland, mom went on a trip to California. I remember that after being home for a couple of weeks it was announced that we were selling the house and moving. Dad loved mom so much that he would do anything for her, so we were California bound. After David finished college in California, mom got the urge to move again.
