Kimberly Sue Jeppesen, 58, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a short battle with cancer at Lakes Regional Hospital on Sunday May 31st, 2020. Kim was born on June 24th, 1961 in Worthington, Minnesota to Elaine and Gunars Hovland and attended Worthington High School where she earned her diploma. She always loved to learn, but wasn’t so interested in teachers or school. She was much more interested in the man she met from the town over. Soon after, she married Jay Jeppesen and started what she called her “favorite adventure.” Kim took on a few positions over the years, but she always said that being a mom to her six children was all she ever really wanted to do. Her kids never had to wonder who was going to pick them up from school or where she was at any given moment. She was always there for them, and there were always cookies in the cookie jar. Aside from her children, Kim’s main involvement was the church. Since their home for 25 years was right across the street from St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley, she was able to help out with just about everything. Kim’s strong faith is what kept her in such good spirits to the very end. Every morning, just like for her whole adult-life, she would be running her fingers over rosary beads and making sure that her whole list was prayed for. Kim will always be remembered for her quick wit, her contagious laughter and energy, and for the family she leaves behind. That family includes her husband Jay Jeppesen, and her children Alan and Mara Jeppesen, Katie Schafer, Ricky Jeppesen, Tena Jeppesen and her fiance Brenden Nelson, Marie Jeppesen, Anita and Kirby Marden, and her wonderful grandchildren and the ones on the way.
