Kimberley Jean Watkins age 66 of Castle Rock, Colorado died at Brookdale Greenwood Village nursing home on December 18th, 2018 at 9 o’clock in the morning. Born November 23rd, 1952 in Hays, Kansas to Arlyn and Betty Humburg.

Kim was preceded in death by her loving husband Larry Watkins on December 13th, 2010. She is survived by her children Micah Watkins, His wife Crystal and grandson Cullen. Her daughter Kellyn Van Laere and husband Jacob, and son Nathan Watkins.

This wonderfully talented music teacher touched many lives in her 40+ years of experience. Including teaching ages as young as 6 thru high school both privately and in various schools throughout Douglas County. She was president of the Colorado American String Teachers Association from 2010-2012, and an active member for many years while teaching.

She enjoyed camping in her RV with her club the Star Gazers, as well as participating in the events they would hold during the winter months. She and Larry joined the club prior to his passing and she continued to live a full life after his death by remaining in the club.

Kimberley was an avid traveler taking trips all over the world. Her favorites included anything on a cruise ship with her dear friend of 65 years Kathy or her sister in law Nancy, after the death of her previous travel partner.

Kimberley loved baseball. She and her family often had season tickets for the Colorado Rockies, and her children will cherish all the memories spent with her in various ballparks.

She was the kindest and most loving woman and will be missed by the numerous lives she impacted and loved forever by many.
