Kim Ray, of Nampa, Idaho passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 24th in Yuma, AZ, at the age of 77. Kim was born April 21, 1936 in Belgrade, MT to Donald and Anna Ray. He attended school in Belgrade and served in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1957.
In 1956, he married Dona Bernasconi of Boise. They celebrated 57 years of marriage this last year. Kim and Dona have 4 children: Kim, Wendy, Kelly (deceased), and Gina.
Kim started in the mobile home industry, and later opened his own business, Ponderosa Homes in Fruitland, Idaho. He and Dona also developed River Ridge Senior Community in Fruitland. He was a member of the Fruitland City Planning and Zoning Commission for many years. He retired in 2004, and spent his retirement years doing more of the things he loved. Hobbies and interests included traveling, boating, hunting & fishing, the music of Boots Randolf, dancing, quarter horses, skiing and golf. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for 48 years. And for several years, the Ray family were members of the Western Riding Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dona, his 3 daughters, Kim Matson of Kuna, Wendy Oxnam of Fruitland, and Gina Tylutki of Issaquah, WA. He has 8 grandchildren: Lindsey, Molly, Crystal, Amber, Chance, Dustin, Claire and Erin. He also has 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Deeter of Ogden, UT, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
