Khianii Das of Damascus passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. He was 100.
He was the son of the late John William and Myrtle Been, born on September 21, 1922, in Brooklyn, NY.
Khianii proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1943-1945 including performing critical military transportation duties on the front lines. He was an Avionics Technician with Northrop Grumman for over 30 years. He enjoyed numerous hobbies throughout his life which included photography and was a lover of all music but especially jazz. He was a consistent, devout member of his spiritual community – extending love for all that crossed his path. Khianii is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Rastii, and 3 sons Tiskonti Das, David Earl Williams and Sonjdre Toom.
