Kevin Michael Coughlin, born April 1, 1966, passed away February 13th. With great will and determination he battled pancreatic and liver cancer for more than nine months. He fought with grace and determination and an unwavering positive attitude, no matter the setbacks. He is predeceased by his father, Brian William Coughlin. He is survived by his mother, Pat Coughlin Mawson, her husband, Charles, Godmother Jane Forte. Siblings include Colleen, Kelly, Mary Kate, Brian and Kate, in addition to a close-knit family including four bother-in-laws, a sister-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also a loving uncle to four nieces and five nephews. Kevin was a resident of Fairfield before calling Stamford his home. He attended Andrew Warde High School and then went on to take EMT courses, open his own cleaning business and eventually settling into the computer programming field. He enjoyed playing darts and was a member of a dart league at Tigin’s Irish Pub and then at Bradford’s Restaurant. In addition to hosting a huge fundraising event in June, Bradford’s generously provided dinners free of charge to Kevin to supplement home-cooked meals provided by family and friends. Our family wishes to express our gratitude to all of those who provided 24-hour care, love and assistance to Kevin. Especially, Zabrina, Nigel, Bob, Christina, Mike, Annmarie, Julie and Bob in addition to a great number of friends. The love and support given to him is above and beyond that of friendship. You too are all his family. He will be remembered for his acts of charity, graciousness and the willingness to see the positive side of any diversity. Through his strength, we carry on with the lesson that no matter how hard the struggle never give up. Life is worth fighting for. He will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched and who were lucky enough to have known him.
