Kevin K Keen passed away peacefully at his home in Reno, Nevada, on Tuesday August 16th 2022, after a brief battle of cancer and liver disease. He was 63.
Kevin was born on September 28, 1958, in Red Cloud, Nebraska to Duane Keen and Norma Jean (Mountford) Farrens. Kevin attended elementary school in Lebanon, Kansas. After his parents divorced, he moved to Colorado. He graduated from high school at Weld Central in Keenesburg, Colorado in 1976.
February 25th 1978, Kevin married Joni McCauley from Brighton, Colorado.
On May 25th, 1985, Kevin married Kim Dittmer, from Ohiowa, Nebraska. For twenty-five years the couple made their home in Modesto, Stockton, Lodi, California. Kevin and Kim raised two daughters, Kristin Marie and Katie Lynn. In 2010, Kevin and Kim divorced, Kevin moved to Reno, Nevada.
Kevin worked in the fabric and whole sale blind and shutter industry for most of his life. He started his career in Denver, Colorado in 1978, moving to the central valley of California in 1985. He was very ambitious and hardworking, building his own successful window covering business. He LOVED sports and competition.
Kevin’s ultimate pleasure in life were his children and grandkids. He loved hearing about their goals, endeavors, relationships, passions and stories. He especially enjoyed supporting and watching his kids participate in athletics. Later in life, he enjoyed socializing with his friends and watching sporting events.
Kevin is preceded in death by his father and mother, his sisters, Victoria King, Teresa Gilbert, and Camille McAnulty.
He is survived by his brother and sister in law, Michael and Patti Keen, Hutchinson, Kansas; by his son, Kenneth Hunter (Tracy) Westminster, Colorado, daughters, Krissy Keen, Denver Colorado, Katie Keen (Art Rice), Tampa, Florida; Grandchildren, Dominic Wenzel, Denver, Colorado, Benjamin Meagher, Westminster, Colorado, Eli Keen, Tampa Florida; and many relatives and friends.
