Kevin J.
Kevin was born August 22, 1954 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald and Elizabeth (Brown) Kartes. He was a very kind and loving man, dedicated to his family and friends.
During his life Kevin married Cheryl Sowinski on March 13, 1983. From that union one son was born, Adam Kartes. He also married JoAnn Groff on May 26, 1990 with whom he raised two beautiful children Robert Niber and Jody Cusik (Mike). Later in life he met and married Johnnie Johnson on June 7, 2015. Kevin was a loving husband to Johnnie and a devoted father to her two children, Katherin Johnson (Anthony) of Natchez, Mississippi and Phillip Jackson (Cassie) of Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Kevin had a long work history, working for Consolidated Freightways for 28 years, Fred’s Heating and Air for five years, Badger Building Supplies for five years, and the City of Milwaukee where he retired in 2017.
Left to mourn Kevin’s passing are his brothers Kalvin, Kerry, Michael and Mark. Brothers Kenneth, Karl and Keith preceded him in death.
Papa Kevin will forever be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Lakyia, Legend, Legacy, Sonny, Jocine, Chase, Phillip and Cecelia. The nieces and nephews of Uncle Kevin will long remember his humor and wit. The friends of Kevin will always cherish his kindness and consideration when they think of him. Kevin was an avid hunter and fisherman and we can’t forget his Harley days. He was an all-around great guy. He will truly be missed.
