Kevin D. Beers, 54, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully following an extended illness at Valley View Healthcare Center in Elkhart on Friday, Feb. 18.
He was born in South Bend on July 17, 1961, to the late Ellsworth and Kathleen Beers. He is survived by his step-mother, Rosa Beers of Elkhart, survived by several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins, including Opal Beers, Robert Beers, Martha and Lyle Beers.
Blessed by a large and loving step-family, Kevin is also survived by stepsiblings, Pat (Andy) Norment and Larry (Peggy) Wentland, both of Elkhart, Judy Hutton of Valdosta, Ga., and Donna Kohl of Ivins, Utah, and a host of nieces and nephews. Four stepsiblings precede him in death.
Kevin worked over 20 years in the band instrument industry. He wrestled and boxed during high school and enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play. He enjoyed music, playing his drums and his cats Rocky and Puddy.
