There were so many wonderful years we had as kids. Our life was tough and made our sibling protection strong while we were young. There are many stories to tell and reminisce. Times we would play board games, eat around the table, and so many that are hard to imagine.

One time Kerrie was in charge. We were living Nampa and playing a board game upstairs. Someone went downstairs to the bathroom and a light was on. Someone else went back down and the light was off. So, we all grabbed something for a weapon and headed downstairs again and there was Mom. She came in to get water for the rabbits and went back out turning the lights off. It was a great laugh and now such a memory to hold onto.

When she was twenty-one, she passed out while driving, only to find out she had epilepsy. Later she married Fred Jacobsen and started a family in Mountain Home. They had Jessica. Later, she moved to Nampa in an apartment close to where we grew up.

At one point, she lived in Oregon for a short time. Kerrie and Jessica settled in and she started working for the IRS in Boise. She would carpool with Mom to work every day. She started to purchase a home near Kuna. Situations arose and Kerrie moved to California for a short time helping her brother Bob after his wife had back surgery.

Medical issues seemed to follow Kerrie and our mom moved her back to Idaho. She found out she had brain cancer and had to go through many treatments and surgery. Eventually, she met Al Mengon and they became one. Her daughter, Jessica, gave her a granddaughter, Sydney. Al was a man of many talents as an electrician and safety inspector. Finally, Al decided to try driving truck.

Being a long-haul truck driver, Al was frequently gone for days. Mom and Kerrie became best friends and spend many meals together. Sunday mornings were a ritual to go to Sunrise Café for breakfast. If we wanted to see them, we knew where to find them on Sundays.

When Al retired, he became their driver. They would go to the library to check out books and discuss them together. Several times they would vacation and enjoy an escape to Jackpot. They would have dinner a couple times a week.

Kerrie tried assisted living and was not happy. Her impatience, she fell and had major brain trauma.
