Kermit L. Stinde, 68 of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born October 20, 1946, in Moline, IL son of John H. Stinde and Opal Faye (Brown) Stinde.

He married Connie Dillinger on July 3, 1970, in Salem and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is also survived by a son, Kermit John Stinde and wife Andrea of Irvington; two daughters: Amy Kendall and husband Scott of Central City and Melissa Nanzer and husband Timothy of Kankakee, IL; five grandchildren: Lucas Kendall of Central City, Hayden Stinde and Justin DuBois both of Irvington, Brittany Nanzer and fiancé Brian Pitts of Centralia; a brother, Larry Stinde of Central City; mother-in-law, Georgia Dillinger of Central City; two brothers-in-law: Alen Prosise of Centralia and Tom Dillinger and wife June of Centralia; several sisters-in-law: Jan Stinde of Centralia, Mary Smith and husband Gary of Centralia, Alice Hall and husband Dale of Centralia and Dianne Robbins and husband Don of Central City; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Roy Stinde and William “Billy” Stinde, a sister: Carolyn Prosise, and a father-in-law, Lyman Dillinger.

Kermit worked as a welder for 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Central City Baptist Church and was baptized on March 18, 2013. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
