Emory Kermit Johnson, 88, of Lanett passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at his residence.
Survivors include his daughters, Peggy Edmondson (Brian) of Tulsa, OK and Kaye Oden (Tim) of Warrior, AL and one grandson, Erick Barton of Tulsa. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Duren Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama in the Denver Community. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII and in the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) in 1949 with Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after 29 years. He was an avid Auburn fan and was a member of West Side Baptist Church.
