Kenyatta, known as Ken to his family and friends, was a man of distinction, charisma, humor, and heart. Ken was a self-declared grill master, dedicated member of the Roll Tide community, and family ordained “funny-man.” His love for his wife and family transcended space and time. Travel and adventure were a passion, so much so that he became a truck driver.
Ken began this life’s journey in Eutaw, Alabama under the guardianship of his parents Alena Mitcheam (Pelt) and Melvin Nickson Sr. Ken came to know Jesus Christ at Ezekiel Baptist Church, where he was baptized at an early age. After graduating from Eutaw High School in 1997, he moved to Decatur where he met and married Toni L. Taylor.
After uniting with Life Changes Faith Center, he enthusiastically studied the word of God and strove to become more than just a hearer of the word, Ken tried to live a lifestyle that embodied change. Sports and grilling were two of his favorite pastime activities.
Ken was preceded in death by his mother (Alena), grandmother (Annie M. Pearson), aunt (Wille Nell Webb), and dog son (Alex I. Mitcheam).
