Kenneth Wayne “K. W.” Lewis, 81, of East Brainerd died peacefully at home August 13, 2011 with his loving wife of 47 years present. He was a veteran of the Occupied Forces in Germany with the Army Air Force. Mr. Lewis came to Tennessee in 1962 as a manufacturing superintendent with Farmers Chemical CO-OP, he transferred to their plant in Tunis, North Carolina as head of manufacturing. He returned to Chattanooga with Velsicol Chemical for two years. He then took a position with Occidental Engineering to start up two ammonia plants in the U S. S. R. He traveled to Rega and Odessa behind the Iron Curtain writing the start-up manuals for both plants.
