Kenneth Roger Thompson, 76, of Newnan passed away Monday, September 14, 2015. Roger was born February 14, 1939 in Haralson County, GA to the late Newt Thompson & Agnes Davis Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Vaughn Thompson. Roger was a loving father and a hard-working man of integrity who deeply loved his grandchildren. He served in the Air Force for six years before moving back to Newnan. He retired from James River Corporation after 33 years. Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Lisa (Alan) Jackson of Sharpsburg, Ms. Johnnie (Paul DePriest) Thompson of Newnan; son, Dr. Jason (Megan) Thompson of Franklin, TN; beloved step-children, Mr. Vince (Darlene) Meadows of Newnan, Mrs. Vickie (Travis) Gilbert of Newnan; sister, Mrs. Sybil (Bob) Burns of Newnan; brother, Mr. Wendell Thompson of Newnan; adored grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and nieces & nephews.
