Kenneth Ray Pratt

Kenneth Ray Pratt passed away at home on October 11, 2016 with his loving wife by his side after a prolonged battle with kidney failure and cancer.

Ken was born on January 16, 1947 in Delta Utah to Lee and Mina Roper Pratt. Ken grew up in Roy Utah where he graduated from Weber High in 1965. He was a devoted Mormon who served an LDS mission in Southern Brazil from 1966 to 1968. Upon returning home he joined the Army Reserves and later married Mary Carol Stuart in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 25th, 1971. They had four children together.

After completing his degree at Weber State University he spent most of his 38 years working as a night supervisor at Davis Hospital. Ken was a hard worker and an example of faith and integrity for many people whose lives he touched while working at the hospital and to his children. They will always remember him as someone that could put them at ease in any situation. When he found time to himself he loved road trips, nature, and a good story about the old west. His wife Carol died on January 24th, 2000 and he later married Barbara (Barbie) Jean Rytting on September 13, 2001 and have been married for wonderful 15 years together. They shared a love for travel and brought so much love and peace to their children. Ken’s devotion to family was shown as he was gracious enough to accept guardianship of his grandchildren Brittany and Timothy Crookston when their mother died.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Carol Stuart, parents, Lee Rea and Mina Pratt, brother, David and sister, Carma Pratt, and stepdaughter, Laura K. Crookston. He is survived by wife Barbie, children: Dr. Brian (Candice) Pratt, Carley (Marlon) Crump Arvada CO, Lisa (Joe) Woods Clinton, Heather (Austin) Rhees Clinton, stepdaughter, Sharlene Rytting Syracuse, also 8 grandchildren Brittany, Madison, Timothy, Shaylee, Trinity, Summer, Braxtn, Brigg, and one soon to be great grandchild Nixlee, and brothers, Norman (Christine) Pratt, Roy, Keith (Janet) Pratt, West Haven.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ryan Stewart and Dr. Ryan McDonald, Cori and Lori from Fresenius Dialysis, and to Symbii Hospice for their care.
