Kenneth R. Mancini, Sr., of Burlington Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital, Willingboro, at the age of 87. Mr. Mancini was a Burlington native and lifelong resident. He was a Class of ’37 graduate of Burlington City High School.

He joined the U.S. Army during World War Two and was in combat with the 63rd Division in Europe. He received a battlefield commission to Second Lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and received the Purple Heart for being wounded in action. After the war, Ken attended Rutgers University School of Law, graduating in 1951 with a Juris Doctorate.He then worked for Penn Mutual Insurance Company for ten years before moving to First Pennsylvania Bank where he was Vice President of Estate Planning.

He stayed with First Pennsylvania for 27 years before retiring in 1991. Ken was first and foremost a devoted family man who also enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was a member of Burlington Country Club, in Westampton, and the Roma Club, in Burlington. He is survived by his wife, Edyth L. (nee, Reeve), his children and their spouses, Kenneth R., Jr. and Christine, of Edgewater Park, Joan and Tim Fitzpatrick, of Medford, Mark and Eileen, of Medford, and Scott and Ann Marie, of Sicklerville, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Jean Lukens and a sister in law, Louise Mancini, both of Burlington.
