Commander Kenneth Paul Edwards, United States Navy Retired, 80, of Ft Worth, TX formerly of Solomon’s, MD passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1934 in Haskell, TX to the late Isaac Clifton Edwards & Callie Mae Brittain Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Isaac Clifton Edwards, Jr. Kenneth enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1952 and accomplished every enlisted rate, Warrant Officer 1 thru 5 and retired as an LDO Commander in June 1996 after serving 44 years in the Navy. He was the last surviving Korean war veteran on active duty when he retired. A private family funeral has been held. Interment, with military honors, at the Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Solomon’s Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Department, P.O. Box 189, Solomon’s, MD 20688. Kenneth leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Terry Grover Edwards; a daughter, son and 3 grandchildren that he cherished. Kenneth has two surviving brothers, Jimmy Lee (Lynda) Edwards, John H. (Joan) Edwards, Mary E. Baird, Betty F. (Roy) Rhine and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces & great nephews.
