Kenneth P. LaRose, 71, of Springfield died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at Vero of South Hadley. Born in Ludlow on Jan. 9, 1950, he was the son of the late Raymond LaRose and Rita (Castonguay) Weinstein. He is also predeceased by his stepfather Erwin Weinstein. Ken was raised in Indian Orchard and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. Ken attended Clarke School for the Deaf in Northampton and graduated in 1967. He went on to graduate from Classical High School in Springfield in 1971. In 1973, Ken graduated college from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, part of the Rochester Institute of Technology with an Associates in Business Administration. After college, he worked as a computer analyst for Pratt & Whitney. For the last 15 years Ken worked at Fresh Acres Market as a porter, a job he loved. Ken was extremely dedicated in serving the deaf community and received many awards and recognitions.
He is survived by two sons, Dean LaRose and his wife Tina of Springfield and Jason LaRose and his partner Amanda Desroches of Indian Orchard, three grandchildren, Savannah LaRose, Isabella Lussier and Jaxson LaRose as well as a niece, Joleen LaRose. Ken was the brother of the late James LaRose (formerly of Springfield) who died on September 24th, 2021.
